O.K. maybe a little more... of an explanation

Yesterday I had posted that I have to get up at 8:00 in the morning. This is not just a one day thing, but I have to go through this for the next two weeks... I'm gunna go crazy. I know there's those kinds of people who actually like to get up early, crazy isn't it? But I'm not like that. I love staying up late and sleeping in till noon, I mean that's just what I do. I guess I just have to get used to it.
Oh sorry, you're probably wondering "why the heck is she getting up at 8 in the morning, if she doesn't want to?
Well the thing is I want to, but, yet I don't, oh and the reason for me getting up at 8 is that I have swimming lessons in the morning.... What? I just don't get it swimming lessons at like the crack of dawn...(well not actually "the crack of dawn") but you get my meaning... Right?
"It's like okay she's up." *Tosses person in pool*
"Aaaaaah! Cold cold cold."
Well not really... The water is actually quite warm.
Well anyway I guess I kind of gave enough of an explanation.

I had to get up at 8:00 in the morning need I say more. *sob*

Back From Camping

This is also another reason I have returned to my blogger.
Today I have come home from my family camping trip, and what do you need to bring while on a camping trip? O.K. people don't try and strain your brain, instead why don't I just tell you.
On a camping trip this is what you need:
-an i pod (or some kind of mp3 or music player)
-books (yes I do like to read)
-a DS (or some other portable game system)
-gum
-candy
-soda (or whatever your preferred drink is)
and that's just to get through the ride to the destination.
O.K. well when you do arrive to where ever it is you are arriving. You need another list of stuff for your stay there:
-moose, gel, spray (you know whatever it is that you need for your hair)
-clothes (of course)you know shirts, pants, socks, unmentionables (always remember to bring extra)
-hot dogs
-skewers
-marshmallows
-chocolate
-graham crackers
-yes you have to have s'mores on a camping trip.
-all the types of food you and your travel companions desire
-Sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, and all other sleeping stuff
-then you take all of this and put in whatever you are taking to get to your destination (such as a motor home, camper, van, whatever)
-and don't forget to brush!

I'M BACK

Yeah like the title says I'm back.
I know it's been awhile since I've posted something (5 days to be exact)...well one reason is I don't have anything interesting to talk about... Unless you want to read a whole bunch of movie and video game reviews. Also my other reason is that I have been spending a lot of my time at this new blog site I found called My Opera.

Yes, I finally did something today. I went to Anchorage for early school clothes shopping at JCPenney, so as to beat the rush. Afterwards we went in search of car stuff but couldn't find what we needed. Then we went to Dairy Queen and jeese I guess that it's still big news around here. The drive though lane was crazy there was about 20 cars waiting in line, but it wasn't as bad inside it took about 10 minutes to be able to order and I guess it was worth it. I got a cherry Arctic Blast, an ice cream cone, and fries.
Later on we returned home at about 8:30 p.m.
Well yeah for me I actually did something.

All day I played video games and drank soda.

Yeah, you read it right! Right now I am living it up, sitting back, relaxing on my couch, watching "Jumanji", drinking a Pepsi, and eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yeah I know what you're thinking you wish you were me don't ya, come on admit it.



I wanted to find one with a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, some Pepsi cans, and a picture of Jumanji in the back, but sadly that just can not be found *sob*.

Finally... More About Stanford

Finally someone has commented on my Stanford. O.K. I'll will now tell the never before told story of "Stanford". Oh and if you can't really tell Stanford is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Let me begin at... well the beginning. Stanford was to big for his mother(Lily) so she had to go through a C-section. When the vet got out Stan he wasn't breathing so the vet literally took him by his back legs and swung him until whatever was obstructing his breathing came out. After this Stanford was pretty much O.K. and he also has a much smaller sister named Roxy.
My mom used to watch over the kids of the owner of Lily and so one day my dad got an Idea...
It was December the winter was cold and we were watching Lily and her pups. My mom really loved Stanford, as he was a really unique little pupper. Anyway on Christmas Eve my dad got a call he had to go into work (I guess there's crime on even the Holiest of days... Just so know my dad is a State Trooper). I was so mad, I HATE criminals! In my mind I was totally steaming off, I was thinking every word that I would never think of to say of out loud. My dad was all in uniform and said his goodbyes and I love yous, then went out the door. I later found out that my dad is a pretty good actor.
It was less than a half hour later when we saw a car come up the driveway, my dad came through the door with a wonderful surprise for my mom in his hands he had the (not so)little Stanford bundled up in a Christmas stocking and my dad said "Merry Christmas" and that was the day Stanford became an official part of our family.
Today Stanford is 4 years old and he is very "special" I know how everyone probably believes their dog is special, but I;m not saying that I saying that Standford is "special". I think that something must have came loose when the veterinarian swung him on the day of his birth, as of every time he meets someone new he has to look them straight in the eye, sniff them for about a minute, and then walks away and treats them as if they weren't even there. He also runs straight into things and acts as if nothing happens, whenever he sniffs something he always has to put his face right on it, and many other strange things that I've never seen another dog do.

I'll rate this movie a 3 out of 5.

"Blood and Chocolate" is an awesome movie and a fantastic book. I do suggest that you read and watch "Blood and Chocolate", as they are entirely two different stories. At first for those of you who have already read the book you might be kind of disappointed, but it still is a great movie and I think you should totally check it out. It is a great movie as long as you try not to compare it to other werewolf stories or to the book.



But I'll rate this book a 5 out of 5.

The Review... A Review... whatever

Looking back on a lot of my recent posts, I kind of started thinking that maybe I should have called my blog "The Review" or "A Review", lately I've been lazier than usual I go to sleep really late and wake up around the afternoon. I just can't help it really, I guess I can't see any good initiative for getting up in the morning. I am having these really weird moments were if one of my siblings just try to make a joke I totally snap at them or I am to depressed and don't even respond. I thought it was quite amazing that I was able to wake up this morning at a somewhat "reasonable" time at exactly 8:00 a.m. (Alaska Time). I would have never woken up if I hadn't of known that 150 dollars was involved, but since I did know I dragged my self out of my bed changed into a pair of black "GLO" jeans and a wrinkled skate shirt. Afterward I groggily made my way into the bathroom brushed my teeth and did my hair... okay you know the whole morning routine I don't have to explain everything.

Well anyway I selected for myself a fantastic delicacy, yup, you guessed it, I poured myself a bowl of "Fruit Loops". After that wonderful meal my dad came through the door still in uniform and I found out he had already settled the matters and that I could go back to bed (but after getting up and doing my routine already I couldn't just go back to sleep). Okay from what I've written you might think that this all sounds like serious business or something like that (I don't know what you're thinking), but really all my parents were doing was signing my sisters and I up for swimming lessons, but we found out the lessons were not set at the greatest times. Sorry if I got you a little too interested I actually kind of got sidetracked all I wanted to do was write another movie review, about "Blood and Chocolate".

This Time The Theater

Today my family and I went to Anchorage to the Valley River Cinema, to see the movie 1408 based off of the book by Stephen King. This movie was about a man who writes about supernatural phenomena and also about all the suspected "haunted" places that he indulges himself through. He has never actually seen anything "supernatural" until he hears about a room at the Dolphin Hotel that the manager only tries to warn him of the dangers of the room, but Micheal Enslin (the book writer) only sees it as another myth, until he's actually in the room. I don't want to give away any big parts, but I do say that all Stephen King fans will not be disappointed... hopefully.



I would rate this movie a 4 out of 5.

Rented Some Movies

If you have stayed up to date with my blog and read it everyday (yeah I know very funny... hahaha), well seriously if you have then you must have guessed by now that I like movies.
Well anyway my mom and dad rented some movies and I really liked them.
The first movie we watched was called "The Messengers" this one was pretty cool it was directed by the Pang brothers, which usually do Japanese movies. This movie is about a family that's had kind of a troubled past and move out to like the middle of nowhere to reconstruct their family bond, but while the family is trying to settle in a lot of strange things start to happen. Even though it was pretty good it had a few flaws, for it had a lot rips from other horror movies and it was kind of slow moving. If you're interested or want to know more I guess you should check it out.



I would rate this movie a 2.5 out of 5.

The other movie I had watched was "Pan's Labyrinth", which in my opinion is an extremely amazing movie. The movie is kind of hard to describe in just a few sentences, but I totally suggest that you watch it. Also let me just add this movie is probably not for everyone, as it does have quite a few gory scenes that I wasn't so fond of, but all in all it's was fantastic.



I would rate this movie a 4.5 out of 5.
Oh and I should probably add that this movie is completely in Spanish, but it does have English subs.

Sights of Alaska

There are many people out there that believe that Alaska is just an extreme icy, snowy wasteland where everyone lives in igloos, but the reality is that it all depends on where you go and what exactly you look at.

There's also some ugly sights in Alaska, there are people who actually live in little cabins like this. Also they are about 1,000 square feet or less, they usually don't have a bathroom, one room and sometimes it doesn't even have a separate room. Now that is a sad sight.

In my house we have like 6 T.V.'s, but everyone wants to watch the biggest one that we have set up in the living room and when my parents want to watch T.V. they're in charge of the remote and that usually means we're going to watch the news. Anyway as I was zoning in and out from watching the news I heard "Internet" and "Alaska" that's when it caught my full attention. This is were I find out that Alaska has the slowest internet compared to all the rest of the United States and that my friends is why I am angered.

I like video games. No wait, thats not right, I LOVE video games! I know. I know, you must be thinking wait that's not right either. But come on you've got to admit video games can be pretty awesome. For you parents that have a bunch of little screaming munchkins that you just want to have shut up, just give them a video game and they'll be quiet for hours. O.K. just so you know don't take any parenting advise from me I'm just a kid my self... well technically I'm a teenager with a drivers permit. Yeah, haven't I said that, I guess not, but one month before on this day I passed my written drivers test. I'm going to take a moment for my self and say "HECK FRICKIN' YES!!! Go me, go me."
Uh hum, sorry I just really like driving. Also getting back to the subject parents don't take parenting advice from me and people don't try and get all sciencey, yes I said sciencey, and try to tell me that playing video games rots your brain. I mean come on, no it doesn't I've been playing video games since I learned how to hold a paddle, so I was about 4, and I'd like to say I'm doing just fine thank you very much.
The purpose of this post before I got kind distracted was that on the news I actually heard something interesting, amazing isn't it. I heard that being obsessed with video games could be some kind of disease. When I heard that I was thinking "wow, what will they think of next."

Wait... what happened?

Do you like T.V.? I like T.V. Well I was watching T.V. and all of sudden guess what there's a commercial. Yeah, I know big surprise there, huh? Yeah, I understand that companies have to get the news out that they made a new shampoo, so what, do they expect us to leap up and go "Oh My Gosh, I have to have that shampoo," or whatever the heck they're showing in commercials. I never really watch commercials when they do come on I flip through the channels to see if there is something else on. Then again when I'm watching something really good I'll stick through the seemingly never ending commercials, but when I do I'll be thinking about stuff and suddenly I've completely forgotten what the heck I was watching. So then I look over at one of my siblings and ask "what were we watching again?" and they'll usually respond by saying "Oh we were watching...hmm...you know I can't remember." but there are those times when they do remember and say "Simpsons", "According To Jim", or whatever else it is that we watch. Well anyway I guess I've kind of said what I needed to say.

I love soda! I want soda! I Need SODA! Have you ever had this really growing want or need for a soda? That's how it's for me right now, but sadly my big brother Eric drank the last one. "Sob".
I miss soda all we have left is Diet soda. I mean what the heck diet I don't need no stinkin' diet that is just nasty. I know. I know. Supposedly some people believe if your going to have a soda have a diet one. It's suppose to be better for you or something. Yeah right, if I going to drink a soda I want one with as much caffeine and sugar as possible. Isn't that right?

Sorry another movie review

O.K. maybe some of you reoccurring visitors (if I have reoccurring visitors) are getting kind of bored of my movie reviews and if you are then I am sorry. Then again I did say that I would talk about what I think about "Music and Lyrics". I'll be truthful and say it wasn't the best movie I ever saw but I thought the beginning was really funny and it did have a sweet little love story to it. So I'd say if you like something like that maybe you should go out and see it, but its not a must see.

Yeah I know it's crazy more movies and stuff. Last night I was taking care of my little sisters while my parents were out and I let them choose the movies and we watched "Finding Nemo" and "Mulan" yeah they're both a little old but I love Disney movies. Also right now "SURPRISE" I'm watching another movie maybe I'll tell you more about that later, but the title of it is "Music and Lyrics".



This is a great family movie and if you still haven't seen it you should.

Yeah Movies!

Last night I stayed up until like 4 in the morning just watching movies. It's odd I can never really fall asleep or wake up at a so called reasonable time especially during the summers up here. You see in Alaska the summer nights are still bright as if it were still day and I think I also have so kind of insomnia... well getting back to the subject. I had watched three movies "Ghost Rider", "Bridge To Terabithia", and "Arthur and The Invisibles". I really liked "Ghost Rider" and "Author and The Invisibles" was really cute, but I didn't really take to "Bridge To Terabithia", as it wasn't as good as the book.



I give this movie a 4 out of 5.



I'll give this movie a 2.5 out of 5. Yeah this is a really cute movie and all but once you've read the book it's just not as good.

Oh yeah, and right now I'm watching the movie "Norbit" maybe I'll tell you about that later.

Parents vs. Internet

Hmmm, I bet my title kind of caught your eye, huh? Well it not like I'm going to talk about an all out battle between someone's parents against a giant computer, no that's not it. But what I did have in mind is about the knowledge of todays parents. I remember when I was younger whenever I had a question my parents always had an answer, but as opposed to today some people might go ask their parents about homework or something really intense and the answer you might get is "look it up on the internet." O.K., wow, this is the time where you might realize that your parents really don't have all the answers. Isn't that sad?!

Bored am I

I am so bored... I don't know what to do so I came here. You know what being bored is...well BORING. When your bored you'll go like crazy or something. You'll see someone on T.V. do something completely outrageous and you will be all like "Hey I want to try something like that." But instead you're either still sitting there being bored or you got up to go make a sandwich or maybe you want a sandwich but you are to lazy to get up so you just call out for help until someone comes and you go "Oh, no I'm fine but my stomach's growling." Summer Vacation

What do you think about summer? I love summer, no school, no stress, no work (unless you get a job). Well not me I have been staying up late and and sleeping in till noon, and take it from me it's just awesome! I went out to see some new movies, went shopping, and just hung out, oh man and I also have been playing lots of video games. I absolutely love summer, the only thing I would want to change is to be out of Alaska.

Alaska Facts

Is it interesting that the Alaska flag was first created by a 13 year old named Bennie Benson in 1926 for a contest. At that time it was made to be a territorial flag.

Alaska didn't become a state until 1959.

The U.S. bought it from Russia in1867 for $7.2 million.

The price was based off of 2 and a half cents for each acre.

Holy Crap! I have seen many odd things and well people are crazy!
I was watching the news, which I hardly ever do, and today a new Dairy Queen opened in Anchorage. Oh, man you should of seen it there were like over a hundred people waiting outside to be the first people in, but the funny thing is I got there before all of them I had gone in the day before with my family and we like had the place to ourself. O.K. I'm like a small town kid so this is just awesome!

SHUT UP

Talking. Talking. Talking. Talking. It's like everywhere you go there is always someone talking. At school, at the store, at the mall, blah, blah, blah... Theres people talking everywhere, but above all I absolutely HATE it when people are talking while in the movie theater. I just want to turn around and yell out "Shut up I paid eight bucks to see this movie so you can either be quiet or just not go to the movies!" But for one thing it would it would suck for everyone else, while they're trying to watch the movie and another reason is well I'm just too shy to say anything about it. Yeah, SURPRISE! I'm shy and it's kind of ironic that some of my friends call me Babbling Brooke, but it's probably because my name is Brooke and my initials are B.A.B.
Sorry, little off subject... Again. Well I guess I've said what I needed to say. But let me end this by saying people please be more considerate of others and SHUT UP, while you're in the movie theater.

Oh, Hi. I haven't been posting anything for the last two days, as it was I couldn't think of anything. I was watching stuff on YouTube and playing video games the whole time, and I just couldn't expect everyone who happens to come across my site to actually read some stupid random ramblings about how I can't think of anything interesting to talk about. I mean, I hate it when that happens, like, I'll be talking to someone and all of a sudden there's a pause and a really awkward silent moment. Man, you don't even know, or do you? Don't Know What To Do

O.K. maybe some people have noticed that I writing a lot of posts at this time, well it' mostly because I can't sleep and don't know what else to do. So, I'm going to share one of my poems.

I can feel it like a chill creeping up my back

Slowly I fall into to a pitch of black

Silently I hear the toll of a bell

This is not right this is Hell

It is like a fear I’ve never felt

I feel its something only the Devil could have dealt

I struggle through the challenge still with faith

With the knowing that the Lord is always with me

I came to prayer and at last I could see.

You know what I hate, I hate it when you ask a simple question like "what time is it?" and the person comes out saying a snide remark like "It's time for you to get a watch." I mean come on people that's just mean, just tell me the freaking time or say I don't know I was going to ask you.

Well, my favorite color is blue. There are people out there you see blue as a way to compare to someone who is sad or depressed, but I like to refer to as a happy color I am absolutely obsessed with the color blue. Hello to everyone or maybe just anyone that may come across this sight. I know that with my first post I didn't really tell much about myself, so this time I'll put more about me.
-If you haven't read my first post I live in Alaska.
-I've lived in the same town for twelve years.
-I have two older brothers and two younger sisters.
-I have thirteen pets (6 dogs, 3 chickens, 2 parakeets, and 2 gold fish).
-My favorite soda is Mountain Dew Code Red.
-My favorite types of music are...well I don't really have a favorite for music, but I mostly prefer listening to rock.
-I hate that now a days mostly every other T.V. show is either a stupid soap opera or another one of those reality shows. I'm not try to dis those of you who favor these types of shows it's just I look back on the T.V. shows from what my parents use to watch like M*A*S*H, Bewitched, I Love Lucy, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and many other shows. Then there's the shows of that we have now I admit there are really good shows every once and awhile like Scrubs, Everybody Loves Raymond, and I absolutely love Animes, also there are a few other good shows. Sorry if you had read before I sometimes get of track and let my mind wander.
-Anyway I also love to go on bike rides.
-I love going swimming.
-I am also totally addicted to video games, but I mostly prefer RPGs.
-And thats all I can really think about right now.

First Post

Hi, my name's Brooke. This is my first post on my new blog, so I'll start out by telling you about myself.
Well, lets see, I live in Alaska, yeah that's right Alaska, America's last frontier stuff like that. You know what I kinda just gonna go off and speak my mind right now. Almost every time I go out of state and tell someone in the lower 48 that I'm from Alaska there is always someone there that asks, "Do you live in igloos?" the answer to there question would be "sorry no". But actually if this person knew more about Alaska he/she might know that in a language up here igloo means house/home/living area. Then again people usually don't know that, so this person is most likely either very confused or just straight out being totally moronic. Probably the oddest question that I have been asked was "How do you get to school?" and then I responded by saying "what?" then they said "Do you get around by dog sled or what?" I looked at this person thinking is he an idiot or just fooling around so I said "Oh, well up in Alaska I have a pet polar bear named Binky that I ride all the time." The kid looked really surprised with this answer and ran off and told his friends about it.
Okay, sorry got a little of track there sometimes I let my mind wander and I'll bring up things that happened awhile ago. Now I'll continue about myself I love the outdoors, but yet ironically I guess you would say, I HATE living in Alaska! I want to live in California or some place with just a lot of theme parks with roller coasters I mean I'm like obsessed with heights and going fast, but living Alaska you don't have that. Yeah, I'll admit it, at first it is really awesome when you see a seven to eight foot tall moose come right to your door or see a hundred sum what bear digging through your trash that will give you thrills. But I've been living here for twelve loooong years thats like all my life. Then there also the family thing, yeah I have my intermediate family and all, you know like mom, dad, 2 older brothers, and 2 younger sisters (yes, that makes me the middle child), but not that besides that I hardly ever see any of my aunts, uncles, cousins, or even my grandparents. I only see my my other family on really rare occasions. That's also the reason why I mention California before, as it is the where mostly all my family is around that area it's just sad.
Well, anyway sorry to put you through that if you actually stuck through to the end of this post I would like to thank you for reading this.
